Artist Statement – Portrait of a Vanishing Hour
Portrait of a Vanishing Hour was born from my fascination with those fleeting moments that exist just before they become memory. I am drawn to the quiet intervals of human experience—the pauses between thought and expression, presence and absence—where emotion reveals itself without words.
Rather than telling a specific story, I wanted this portrait to evoke a feeling of stillness and contemplation. The warm palette, the rich drapery, and the softly illuminated pendant were chosen not merely as visual elements, but as symbols of memory, fragility, and the passage of time. The sitter's gentle gaze invites the viewer into a moment that feels both intimate and universal, encouraging personal reflection rather than offering definitive answers.
